Approach to Mediation

At the law office of John C. Valliere, Attorney at Law, I maintain the philosophy of mediation first. When children are involved, a peaceful and open-minded approach benefits them the most. It is important to protect your assets and your legal interests. However, their primary goal should be to see that your children are protected throughout this difficult process. Mediation often facilitates a better post-marital relationship between the couple divorcing. When both parties come to a mutual agreement, everyone benefits.

Hands-On Process

When a client comes to me, they are looking to protect their legal interests and ensure that everything will be done properly. I am hands-on throughout the entire process. I will assist in the drafting and filing of paperwork and attempt to settle all outstanding issues efficiently and correctly.

These issues can be handled through litigation or mediation. A case management agreement is filed for a judge's review and a final separation agreement is generated and filed. Connecticut laws mandate a Parenting Education Program when children are involved in a divorce. The course covers developmental stages of children, adjustment to the parental separation, dispute resolution and conflict management, visitation guidelines, stress reduction, and cooperative parenting.

Throughout the process, I will be accessible to you in answering and returning calls and will provide you with updates on your case.
